Room

Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort consists of 104 Superior Rooms with pool garden and ocean views and 20 Suites that enjoy a direct view of the ocean. Set in almost 20 acres of beautifully tended tropical gardens. You may choose to simply relax on the resort, enjoying the warmth of the African sun and the soothing sound of the waves, or you can explore Zanzibar, an island rich in history and culture. The places to see include historic Stone Town, Maruhubi Ruins, Mbweni Ruins, Mtoni Ruins and Kidichi Persian Baths. There are also tours of the spice plantations and the Jozani Forest available.

Dining

Spices, the main restaurant offers a buffet, breakfast, lunch and dinner.  We provide a wide selection to appeal to the many tastes of our guests.  Some continental cuisine, a few more adventuresome, international dishes and a Zanzibari special to try. There is a pasta corner, a pizza corner and always something fresh on the grill. If you haven’t filled up, we recommend the desserts, cakes, mousses or perhaps fresh fruit for the very well behaved! Combine that selection with warm, friendly service and you have all the ingredients for wonderful meals!  All meals in Spices are part of the all-inclusive package. If you're looking for a change at lunch time, or just don't want to move too far from your pool bed, the Samaki is open.  Aside from a spectacular view from its enviable position on the cliff, it offers a combination of salad bar, pizza from a traditional wood-burning oven or a casual, snack style a la carte menu.  Lunch is part of the all-inclusive package for registered guests. Dinner at Samaki is wonderful, the moon, the stars, the gentle sound of the waves and the occasional fisherman trolling past, the ambiance is beautiful.  The menu is also delicious, varied, a la carte and warmly presented.  Dinner is chargeable. For that special occasion, or just for a memory that will remain with you always, try our Dinner at the Edge of the Ocean.  The two of you, sitting in the sand, still warm from the sun... private service and your very own cook.  Fresh lobster, a bottle of wine and the Indian Ocean at your feet. Recreation

Four free-form swimming pools, table tennis, pool table, darts, water aerobics, water polo, beach volleyball for those that prefer to be physically challenged and for the less sporty but young at heart patrons, one can shake a leg or do a little jig to the evening entertainment.  We have a small but fully functional spa offering Manicures, Pedicures and a variety of massages. What could be more relaxing than a massage in a space overlooking the ocean, where you can hear the gentle sound of the waves and enjoy the cooling breeze, all while fragrant oils sooth your senses?
